Emma & Mark Coolbawn Quay

Coolbawn Quay Wedding for Emma and Mark

I felt I already knew Emma and Mark having photographed for his brother’s wedding. So it was lovely to get the chance to meet all the family again. Emma and Mark met back in 2015 at Electric Picnic but it wasn’t until a year later that they got it going on……They chose the amazing Coolbawn Quay in Tipperary to celebrate their wedding day. Mia their daughter was very excited about the day. The pair of them are fun loving and Emma told me when they arrived the night before in Coolbawn Quay, they were having the craic and Emma fell off the bar stool and had a massive bruise on her leg which thankfully the wedding dress hid! Mark was dead keen to have some fun the morning of the wedding and he and his groomsmen went clay pigeon shooting locally in their Louis Copeland suits. Being keen marksmen, it was going to be a competitive morning!!

Meanwhile the girls all got ready in the lovely cottages on the lake. Bernie, Mark’s mum knitted three little dolls representing the couple and Mia. Mia didn’t let them out of her sight for the morning. I was mega impressed when Emma let me take the wedding dress to the lake for a photograph. Luckily the tallest bridesmaid came with me and was able to reach to hang it up safely!!! No Storm Ophelia and Brian that day, thank goodness!

We headed to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Terryglass where the ceremony went well and Emma and Mark were delighted to become Mr & Mrs. After a catch up with guests outside the church, the bridal party headed to the scenic village pub for a few photos before the rain started.

We headed back to the stunning lakefront where guests enjoyed a glass of bubbly and catch up. It was lovely for Emma and Mark to stroll by the lake and be able to get their wedding photos close to all the guests. We had the lovely Emma from Edithouse with us too. The newleyweds didn’t want to be parted from friends so we went in to the marquee to look at the cake made by their friend Amy with its cute flag topper. Emma and Mark told me instead of wedding favours, they had left out hangover food in all the cottages for the guests! They must know something we don’t about the crowd…
