This has been a long time coming – a real wedding for Shauna!!!! Shauna is the daughter of one of my best friends Eimear. Shauna has been in my life since she played on my sitting room floor with her barbie dolls…
So it was an honour to be asked to a be a wedding guest and her photographer at her romantic wedding at Boyne Hill House. As a guest, it was as important for me to look somewhat wedding ready, so Anna agreed to shoot some of the morning preparations for Shauna and Ronan. From what I saw, there seemed to be a hell of a lot of champagne, hugging and tears involved before the actual ceremony at Boyne Hill House started.
Shauna and Ronan had hoped for an outdoor wedding ceremony at Boyne Hill House but the Irish weather was not playing ball. Though, Ronan seemed to be happy to play ball – well snooker balls with his groomsmen before hand while Shauna and the girls were pampered with make up and hair.
We were lucky that the weather picked up after the ceremony to venture into the walled garden at Boyne Hill House. Shauna and Ronan were on task and knew what style photos they wanted, with no cheesy umbrella shots!!!
It was lovely to see the cake topper from Shauna’s grandparents wedding day used on their own cake. With speeches and a hearty meal, everyone was up for some dance moves. It seemed less of a wedding band vibe and more of a live dance session so it was hard to persuade people to come out to the courtyard for a sparkler photo session at Boyne Hill House.
But when they did, it proved to be pure chaotic fun, only what I would expect from Shauna and Ronan, who like their families are always fun loving and up for the craic, my kind of people…
