Fairytale Wedding at Kilkea Castle

Fairytale Wedding at Kilkea Castle

As Irish wedding photographers, we meet all sorts of wedding couples.  When, I got chatting to Fionnuala about details of her planned Fairytale Wedding at Kilkea Castle to Rossa, I knew she was great fun but also very organised.

On our chats, she was multi- tasking, busy glueing pearls onto her flower girl Grace’s runners.  She even learnt how to do a bit of calligraphy so she could do lovely wedding invites for her wedding at Kilkea Castle.

Fionnuala and Rossa were schoolheart sweethearts, how cute is that!  They have grown together with interests in sport and fitness.

Fionnuala had told me Rossa totally suprised her with the proposal.  She was in her cuddly PJ’s after a long day judging at a gymnastics competition and he got all dressed up, decorated the room with candles and flowers and as Fionnuala is a Swiftie fan, had an acoustic version of Taylor Swift playing in the background.  So of course all the formal engagement photos were in her PJ’s so we had to make sure she wore them the morning of their summer wedding at Kilkea Castle!

On my arrival to Fionnuala’s parents house in Kildare, I knew the wedding day was going to be right up my street, I was met with a robotic lawnmower wearing a veil cutting the grass outside.   With dogs, not to mention one black cat, coming out of nowhere wearing wedding attire.  We didn’t even go to visit the horses.  I wouldn’t have got time for any photos of the family – otherwise!!!

Fionnuala had warned me about her sister Bronagh telling me “She was a live wire”…. Just what everyone needed, there was plenty of laughs, high energy, and obligatory Baby Guinness Shots before we even left for the wedding ceremony at Caragh Church.

Fionnuala wore a beautiful wedding dress with a split so I was determined to get a few “sexy” pictures and asked her to show the leg in front of her gorgeous Classic Jaguar car outside the church.  Well the laughs!!!

At Kilkea Castle, the pair of them were just a dream wedding couple for us.   We were off around the grounds at Kilkea Castle for some lovely wedding photos by the amazing lavendar blue wisteria.  We got all their family photos and bridal party photos done very quickly and then, it was time for them to kick back and enjoy their outdoor wedding reception at Kilkea Castle.

With a super welcome into the main room, they sat back enjoyed their meal and with the enthusiasm of two super fit young ones, they were out again for a few sunset photos at Kilkea Castle and back for some lovely wedding speeches.  Then they then got stuck into some crazy dancing with all the guests.

In true canine wedding style, we wish them a woof-derful life together in the future!!!
